Happy Holidays! It’s been a very busy term with lots of events on the calendar. Hurstbridge has been represented so well by our members in a wide range of disciplines. Congratulations to all who competed. We are very proud of your achievements and the effort that families invest into the sport. Remember to enter your results onto the results diary on our webpage and to forward pictures to Maxine.
We have a National Champion at our Club! A very talented and dedicated Amy Cornell is now the Pentathalon National Champion. The sport is relatively new in Australia and Amy is doing a wonderful job showcasing the sport. Look out for Amy’s report. Well done Amy.
• Our cookie drive starts this month with boxes ready to collect. Most families will have a box to sell (or eat!) over the next month with the funds due at the May rally. If you are not at rally can you please organise a time to collect your box.
• Our Cross Country is getting an upgrade. Albert Putker will be coming down to the club (hopefully Sunday) and advising us the best way to go about maximising our space and upgrading our jumps. We can then follow up with painting, building and laying gravel at the working bee on May 20th.
• Neckstraps!! Last rally our instructors mentioned the value of neckstraps to quite a few members. They are great when jumping but also as an aid to keep hands low and in the correct position. If you were asked to wear one please do. A spare stirrup leather works well and is a great width.
• Tip of the month: If you are competing or attending games training the day before Pony Club please make sure your pony is fit enough. This time of the year horses start to lose weight so please keep them fit and well fed.
