It has been a super busy month and I would like to start by thanking all the parents and kids who volunteered at Yeringberg on the weekend of April 11th and 12th. A big thanks to : Melissa Dawson, Jaqui and Shelby Coates, Julia and Emily Walker, Lisa Banks and Greta Brown, Teha Smart and Tamika Allen, Nean Tatnall, Andrea Barton and our own Sarah Harrison who was a Paramedic at the event. The weather was wonderful and Eloise and Sarah represented our Club to a very high level. Both girls completed two clear rounds in XC and SJ and Sarah ended up with 4th place. It was a huge team effort and lots of fun. Some of us even learned how to use a walkie talkie….
The money raised at these zone events help fund clinics run by our Zone. We had a huge number of kids attend the eventing clinic at Kangaroo Ground and then go on to compete at KG Combined Training. It gave the kids confidence, skills and strengthened their club friendships. Please look out for the next clinic in July. Entry forms are at the club or follow the link on the website (zone and pcav). There were lots of ribbons won and great big smiles although the day poured with rain. We are breeding tough and competent riders; parents too!
Xavier and Alexandra also took on the bad weather again at Sunbury CT. Both competed in grade 5 with Xavier coming 1st and Alexandra 4th. Congratulations to you both.
On Saturday 18th our club hosted a C Certificate examination. We had 6 members tested on the day and also hosted for 2 Wyena members and 1 from Yarrambat. It was a wonderful day with all participants passing with flying colours. Well done to Nicola Tsiolis, Amy Cornell, Sarah Hall, Mikayla Darroch, Samantha Reardon and Ella Jacobsen. There were nerves at the start of the day and huge smiles and sighs of relief at the end. The girls worked very hard to complete their certificates and deserve congratulations. Please find time to read the wonderful report written by Nicola. Achieving our C Certificate
We are very proud of all the girls who manners and attitude were wonderful. Well done.
Please enter your results in our events diary via the website.
Can everyone please sign the attendance before riding. It is a requirement of PCAV and members are not supposed to ride unless signed in. The book is always on the table out the front of the clubhouse before gear check begins.
Could everyone please ensure you have checked your gear before gear check. We need to improve on a couple of areas; girths need to be tightened and bridle parts put through keepers. They are called keepers to keep us safe! Could parents of younger ones assist in these areas until the members are independent.
There will be a prize at next rally for the most improved group at gear check.
Look out for our flier regarding our next Freshmans day on May 17. It will be another great day for riders and also a great fundraiser for our club.
Could riders either text or email me if not attending the rally. It helps with the planning and checking the attendance book. My no is 0404 861 715 and email firstname.lastname@example.org
Tip of the month: With the ground becoming soft take care on XC and trail rides. Where we might normally canter we might now need to trot. Look after your ponies and avoid unnecessary falls.
